Seine River Cruise Travel Journal—Introduction

The SeineToday we depart for our Seine river cruise.

I will be posting daily for the next 8 days as we journey back in time to the days of Charlemagne, Richard the Lionheart and Joan of Arc.

We will be examining the past from the perspective of the kingdom of God and its destiny on the earth, and  almost certainly we will find application for today.

Last year I blogged from the Rhone River. That travel journal followed a Carolingian & Crusader Travel Journal from France, Belgium and Germany, the Byzantine Travel Journal from a Black Sea cruise, and two travel journals from Israel, one in 2010 and another in 2012.

The Seine is most well-known as the river that flows through Paris. The pic above is of the part of the Seine that flows past Notre Dame, but the Seine does not begin or end in Paris. It actually begins near Dijon (yes, of mustard fame) in northeastern France, flows through Paris and terminates some 500 miles from its source in the Atlantic near the English Channel.

We will travel the same river by the same means Charlemagne and Richard the Lionheart most surely did—by ship—enjoying good food and wine along the way.

So, come travel vicariously through the GSB as we explore Kingdom history along the Seine. GS
