This is the last in a three part series on keeping your New Year’s resolutions.

In the first two posts, I wrote of the importance of getting your resolutions from the Lord then writing them down.

The third key, which is the key to getting to the finish line, is keeping your resolutions and goals before you in prayer.

One of the major reasons people fail in fulfilling their New Year’s resolutions is that as the year progresses they get forgotten, fade in significance in comparison with other challenges or are abandoned for lack of progress. Praying weekly over your resolutions reminds you they are not merely good ideas but directives from the Lord and provides a consistent opportunity to monitor your progress. 3 Keys to Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions-Part II

Yesterday I suggested the first thing you should do to ensure you keep your new year’s resolutions and achieve your goals in 2012 was to get them from the Lord in prayer.

Resolutions you dream up may be good ideas but those you get from the Lord carry a divine imprimatur.

The second thing you must do? Write them down.

There is something powerful in putting pen to paper (or words on your monitor). It takes the resolutions out of the spiritual realm and gives them an existence in the natural.

3 Keys to Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions-Part I

If you are like most people in the next day or two you will make some new years’ resolutions.

Then, a few weeks into the year you will abandon them, feel guilty and go back to living the way you’ve always lived.

There are three things you can do though that will greatly increase your chance of keeping your new years resolutions and achieving your goals in 2012.

The first thing? Pray.
